Abstract

Knowledge regarding pregnancy danger signs plays a crucial role in enhancing pregnant women's adherence to antenatal care (ANC) visits, serving as a means for the early detection of pregnancy complications. A lack of knowledge leads to delays in recognizing danger signs, thereby increasing the risk of complications for both the mother and the fetus. This study aimed to determine the relationship between knowledge of pregnancy danger signs and adherence to antenatal care (ANC) visits in the working area of the Pattallassang Community Health Center (Puskesmas). The study employed an analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study population consisted of 116 pregnant women, with a sample of 54 respondents selected using purposive sampling. Data on knowledge were collected via questionnaires, while ANC adherence was measured using an observation sheet. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods, specifically the Chi-Square test with a significance level of α = 0.05. The Chi-Square test results showed a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between pregnant women's knowledge of pregnancy danger signs and their adherence to ANC visits.
